 AYR WANT CHAMPION TRIAL                
 Ayr racecourse has offered to stage a  
 Champion Hurdle trial at its scheduled 
 fixture on Saturday 8 February.        
                                        
 The British Horsjracing Board iu       
 considering arranging an extra         
 conditions race ovjt two miles for     
 Champion Hurdle hopefuls next week.    
                                        
 Clerk of the course Mark Kirshaw said: 
 "Our Saturday fixture comes at the     
 right time if it is decided that an    
 extra Cheltenham trial is needed.      
                                        
 "The Daily Record would sponsor us so  
 we are keen to stage the race."
