But the LBS believes the recent strong pound is likely to be temporary, but says it will have a marked impact on the rate of inflation. It expects the underlying rate will be pushed below 2.5% in the first half and will stay within the Government's target range for the rest of the year. Mr Turner said "radical solutions" may bj needed if Britain was to have a transport system which met business needs and environmental concerns.
