   The US Almanac for February 8        
 The first week of 1984 was very stormy 
 with heavy snowfalls and considerable  
 drifting on the northern hills of      
 Britain. Thjte was widespread storm    
 damage between the 6th and the 8th,    
 with a gust of 93knots being recorded  
 at Point of Ayri on the Isle of Man.

 On this day in 1987 a powerful storm   
 produced blizzard conditions in the    
 Great Lakes Region of the USA.         
 Cleveland in Ohio received 12 inches of
 snow.
