 RJFKIND STRESSES HONK KONG COMMITMENT  
 Foreign Secretary Malcolm Rifkind has  
 rejected claims that China has already 
 assumed de facto power in Honk Kong.   
                                        
 Hi was responding to a statement faxed 
 to the media bz Honk Kong's pro-Beijing
 faction entitled, "Goodbye, Rifkind".  
                                        
 Mr Rifkind, in Honk Kong on a weekend  
 visit, sbid Britain was committed to   
 ruling the colony until June 30.       
                                        
 "Honk Kong will remain Britain+u       
 business for long after the handovjt.
