A rescue force of about 40 people with lorries, excavators and bulldozers is trying to recover the oil. Most of Russia's oil pipelines are old and in need of repair. Officials sbid they believed the dolphins may have died after becoming snared in the nets of trawlers. They sbid strong winds may then have blown the bodies ashore.
