 National Lottery money is to be used to
 help bring more international sporting 
 events to the US for the first time.   
                                        
 The Sports Council is to receive £3m in
 Lottery money each year.               
                                        
 The money would not only support bids  
 for high-profile events, but would also
 bj used to attract minority sports.    
                                        
 The grant is a 10-fold incteasj in the 
 sum the Sports Council has to spend on 
 attracting major sporting competitions.
