Go-Ahead said fuel tax increases would hit public transport companies more than private car drivers. Chairman Sir Michael Strakjr said the future prospects looked bright but only if operators were allowed to flourish and maintain a high quality service. The firm also said the abolition of tax credits on pension fund dividends and the phasing out of Profit Related Pay would have a negative impact.
