 GROUND FORCE BBC2, Friday              
 That nice Alan Titchmarsh has been     
 slated by critics from the earliest    
 days of his TV career and this show    
 provides no reason to let up now.      
                                        
 His boundless zest, sunny disposition  
 and endless forced hilarity is deeply  
 irritating. Not since Tony Blackburn's 
 Radio 1 days have I been quite so irked
                                        
 The idea is also flawed; gardening     
 ism't about instant gratification —    
 Challenge Annjka meets Changing Rooms. 
                                        
 But two cheers for trying to break the 
 dreary garden show format. If I'm shown
 how to sow seeds once more I'll scream.
