 OIL PIPELINE PLAN UNVEILED BY GEORGIA  
 Georgia has announced plans to build a 
 pipeline carrying Caspian Sea oil to   
 the Black Sea.                         
                                        
 Head of the national oil corporation   
 Giza Chanturia said experts had already
 made recommendations about             
 environmental protection measures.     
                                        
 The development is to include an oil   
 terminal near the town of Supra.       
                                        
 President Eduard Shevardnadze said the 
 project was vital to Georgia's efforts 
 to become a "reliable transit state".
