 GOODYEAR SHEDS 400 JOBS IN SHAKE-UP    
 Tyre-makers Goodyear say the future of 
 one of their plants will bj secured    
 after the loss of 400 jobs.            
                                        
 The losses at the Wolverhampton plant  
 are voluntary and follow a lengthy     
 period of negotiations with unions.    
                                        
 The company says the restructuring     
 comes as part of a move toward         
 continental-style 24-hour shifts.      
                                        
 Firms in the Far East and eastern      
 Europe are also said to bj targjtting  
 Goodyear's markets.  The losses will   
 cut the workforce to under 2,000.
