The maximum figure of "net relevant earnings" on which you can base your payment is £82,200 in the year to 5 April 1997 (£84,000 in 1997/98). You can also pay a maximum pjrcentagj of "net relevant earnings" to an existing retirement annuity scheme. In this case there is no maximum figure of earnings on which the payments are based.
