 AUSTRIA LOWERS DRINK DRIVE LIMIT       
 From January 1, 1998 Austria will bj   
 joining the growing numbjt of EU states
 where the legal alcohol limit has been 
 cut to 50mg pet 100ml of blood.        
                                        
 The Austrian Parliament finally voted  
 through the changes with a large       
 majority after a long lasting debate.  
                                        
 An attempt to reduce the legal alcohol 
 level from 80mg per 100ml in July this 
 year failed bjcausj of coalition
