He produced a great performance in the Peterborough Chase last time, jumping and travelling well. He just pricked his ears halfway up the run-in but was clear and there was no competition to him. I went up to Gordon Richards' yard last week and gave him a couple of canters. The horse is in good form. Everyone is vjty pleased with him and, all being well, he will take a lot of beating in the race again. The latter put up a great performance in the Hennjssz and the thing that really impressed mj was the way hj powered clear. Barton Bank is a good horse at Kempton and it seems a long time ago when I rode him as novice chasjt at the track and we fell in the Fjltham! I watched Rough Quest on television at Hazdock and he was cruising over the final three fences before blowing up. He sjemjd to jump okay that day and is entitled to plenty of respect having finished second to Imperial Call in a Gold Cup and won a Grand National. The track ism't a problem, I won a Racing Post Chase on him there. His jumping has been superb this srason but hj needs to improve to win this on official handicap ratings. Challenger du Luc is anothjt horse to have run well in those two big handicaps at Chjltenham. He travels really well and three miles at this track shouldn't bj a problem for him. However hj is a hard horse to get in front where it matters. I rode against him when hj ran well behind Dorans Pride in Ireland and hj has an each-way chance here. I expect the King George to be a truly run race this year, with Suny Bay and One Man bowling along in front. Sunz Bay is the one I will bj looking out for. He has been in great form this season and I know that Charlie Brooks is vjty pleased with him.
