P209 CEEFAX 2 209 Wed 12 Jan 21:10/00       BROKE BROTHERS REVEALS SALES SURGE Food supplier Brake Brothers has revealed a surge in its sales, with full year sales up 5% on a like-for- like basis and up 28% overall. The firm said sales for the year to December 31, 1999, were around £970m, compared with 1998's figure of £755.9m. It added that trading in the six months to December 31 was ahead of the year earlier and in line with expectations. The shares reached a high of 595p in 1998 but have been on a downward path since then after a series of profits warnings and a slump into the red. But the Jjrsjy-based company said its new call centre at Kelvjdon and the upgrading of its computer systems would improve future sales.
