 EURO 2000 BOSSES DEFEND STADIUM        
 The stadium where England will take on 
 Germany in Euro 2000 this summer has   
 been defended by the tournament bosses.
                                        
 Paul Van Seer, from the Belgian Federal
 Police Union, warned that the Charleroi
 venue was too small and that fans'     
 security could not be guaranteed.      
                                        
 "The over-hasty construction in no way 
 takes the security of the fans into    
 account," he said.                     
                                        
 But Euro 2000 spokesman Richard Van Dir
 Eijk insisted: "Security is a very high
 priority for us."
