 BRAZIL CRITICISM OVER 2006 BID         
 Brazil's chances of staging the 2006   
 World Cup finals have been dealt a huge
 blow after criticism by the chairman of
 the FIFA committee examining the bids. 
                                        
 Brazilian officials, who do not have   
 the support of the legendary Pele, have
 been told their stadiums are not good  
 enough by American Alan Rothenburg.    
                                        
 He highlighted the lack of covered     
 stands and seats with backs as well as 
 "other technical demands".             
                                        
 England, Germany and South Africa are  
 considered the front runners for 2006.
