The first is a rare form of mountain ash called Sorbus poteriifolia, with red leaf stalks lined with glossy green leaflets. It grows to about 10cm and has clusters of pink flowers. Secondly, Salix reticulata is a willow. Its rounded leaves are dark on one side and pale on the other, with a lovely branching pattern of veins. It has tiny reddish catkins. ———————————————————————————————— 3/17
