 NEXT FASHIONS SALES SURGE              
                                        
 Fashion group Next has painted a bright
 picture of current trading with sales  
 up a fifth so far this year.           
                                        
 "Since February 1 1994, sales in Next  
 Retail are approximately 20% ahead of  
 the previous year," chairman Lord      
 Wolfson said at the annual meeting.    
                                        
 Selling space had increased by around  
 1.5% over last year and sales in Next  
 Directory were approximately 25% ahrad.
