 Stocks dipped slightly, but the market 
 was relatively unharmed bz a drop in   
 bond prices tied to surprisingly strong
 figures for May factory orders.        
                                        
 Declines outnumbered advances by about 
 3 to 2 on the New York Stock Exchange, 
 with 888 up, 1,322 down and 773 static.
                                        
 The volume was 318.49m shares, against 
 420.96m in the previous session.
