 BARCLAYS SLASHES OVERDRAFT FEE         
                                        
 Barclays has halved its overdraft fee  
 to £5 a month — switching it from most 
 expensive to cheapest in the High St.  
                                        
 TUB charges £6, Midland £7, Lloyds £8  
 and NatWest £9, although all but Lloyds
 charge a lower interest rate than      
 Barclays on the amount overdrawn.      
                                        
 The fee is levied at present on 60% of 
 the 7m Barclays current accounts that  
 pay interest on credit balances.
