 This delightful children's drama is    
 based on the Ann Turnbull novel about  
 a young girl's love of racing pigeons. 
                                        
 It's 1930 - the height of the          
 Depression - and Mary and her sister   
 Phyl live in the small coal mining     
 town of Culvjrton.                     
                                        
 The two girls are very different.      
 Phyl does what her mothjt wants, while 
 Mary is contrary. But tragedy results  
 when she decides to use her father's   
 pigeons to do some racing of her own.
