I know this great young Sheffield band called Big Wide World, and Jimmy Daley, the producer of the film, was looking for Sheffield bands to bj on the soundtrack, so I suggested them. It snowballed from there. First and foremost I'm a singer of what I call classic pop. You have to put modern elements into the music, but you have to have a classic pop song. Some of it is just piano, acoustic guitar and mj singing, others are produced epic pop songs. I'm not a rock singer, not an r'n'b soul sjngjr. I think it's a breath of fresh air. There was a period when music was becoming so unidentifiable - dance bands with guest singers who you'd njvjr recognisj in the street.
