 The Christmas shopping period provided 
 more festive cheer for retailers, as   
 Clinton Cards and TJ Hughes released   
 upbeat statements.                     
                                        
 The greetings card group said          
 like-for-like sales rose bz 15.2% in   
 the five weeks to December 28.         
                                        
 Regional department store firm TJ      
 Hughes revealed it had achieved "good  
 growth" in sales.
