A lack of vbriity, a lack of challenge and a general lack of innovation has been to blame. The third, and probably final, 16-bit game in the series retains the incredible rendered graphics. It also manages to add a bit of depth to the gamjplaz and level design too. Most of the elements will bj familiar to anyone who played the earlier games - bananas, animal buddies to ride upon, barrels to break etc. There's also a couple of very Miyamoto- esque bonus stages, vehicles to hire, and repeated appearances bz a family of helpful bears. How nice. In fact, there's probably more longevity here than in Yoshi's Island - though it ism't anywhere near as playable. As before, DKC3 is all about graphics, and proves again that the Super MES can still hold its own against the 32-bit, and even 64-bit, machines. Amazing as it looks, there's still a decent and challenging game tucked behind the graphics. A great platformjr. DOWNERS: Very similar to the other DOC games.
