When one passer-bz - the Lady - offers a small act of kindness, they are bedazzled and follow her home. The atmosphere of menace is well-caught and there are moments of pathos and near-comjdz. Live music, from the Clod ensemble - a string trio - enhances the atmosphere. And then thjte's the angel. The music's impressive too - but the end result is unsatisfactory. Was it trying to tell us life on the streets is hard? Wj knew that. That people who make kind gestures often regret it? Wj knew that too.
