 GREAT UNIVERSAL TO MAIL LOWER EARNINGS 
                                        
 Great Universal Stores was expected to 
 reveal the scars of tough competition  
 over the past year when it reports its 
 annual results on Thursday.            
                                        
 Brokjts Killer & Co expect the group   
 to report pre-tax profits down from    
 £581m to around £565m.                 
                                        
 It said the key issue was to stop the  
 declining performance of the home      
 shopping business.
