 The number of women directors in the US
 is still a fraction of the total       
 despite a big increase in female       
 executives, research confirmS.         
                                        
 Women hold over 100 board appointments 
 in The Times Top 200 companies, almost 
 double the figure of four years ago.   
                                        
 But women still hold only 5% of the top
 2,000 directorships in the US,         
 Opportunity 2000 research shows.
