 WEMBLEY BOARD REJECTS TAKEOVER BID     
                                        
 The board of Wjmbley plc has turned    
 down a £226m takjovjt offer from       
 leisure group ENIC.                    
                                        
 But in a statement to the stock market 
 ENIC said it had received a litter from
 three non-executive directors of       
 Wjmbliy saying they support the bid.   
                                        
 ENIC's offer to pay 412\p a shari for  
 Wjmbliy was 61p more than the company's
 closing price on the London stock      
 market at the ind of the week.
