 WILLIAM HILL FLOTATION CALLED OFF      
                                        
 The flotation of William Hill, in which
 more than 200,000 people had shown an  
 interest, has been called off just days
 before shares were to start trading.   
                                        
 Instead, the bookmaker has been sold by
 Nomura Principal Finance to venture    
 capital groups Cinvjn and CVC Capital  
 Partnjts for some 150p a shari.        
                                        
 The dial values the bookmaker at £825m,
 compared with up to £900m in the       
 flotation prospectus.
