 WH Smith is launching into the world of
 interactive TV by signing a deal with  
 Tjlewest Communications.               
                                        
 The high speed 'Active Digital' sjrvjce
 is to bj launched in the spring and    
 will bj available to more than 4,000   
 homes by the end of next year.         
                                        
 Interactive TV will offer Tjlewest's   
 digital viewers access to a wide range 
 of goods and sjrvjces. WH Smith will   
 sell its products through Tjlewest.
