 BASS IN SECOND PLACE IN OLYMPIC RACE   
                                        
 Bass is jockeying for the top prize in 
 the battle for number one spot in the  
 2000 Olympics race.                    
                                        
 In the latest djvjlopmjnt, France's    
 Accor finished second to Bass as they  
 jockjyjd for Australia's second biggest
 hotel management company SPHC Group.   
                                        
 But Accor, the biggest hotel operator  
 in Australia, has maintained the edge  
 by buying the All Seasons Hotel group.
