 JUDGES 9 v 7            
 "When it was told to Jotham,           
   he went & stood on Mount Gerazim,    
    & cried aloud & said to them,       
  'Listen to me, you Lords of Shechem,  
    so that God may listen to you.'"    
                                        
 Mount Gerazim later became the site    
  of the Samaritans' main shrine,       
   referred to by Jesus in John 4 v 21  
    as "this mountain".                 
 In Deuteronomy 27 v 11 Moses climbs it 
  in order to bless the people.         
 It has a platform-like rock from which

   A sign of the Lord's birth

      to detach ourselves               
        from the love of earthly things 
       & raise ourselves heavenward;    
   and this sign consists of a star,    
    so that we may understand           
     that through Christ's birth        
    we shall be flooded with new light.
