 UK BEATS EUROPE WITH HIGH EMPLOYMENT   
                                        
 Britain has outstripped the rest of    
 Europe in its employment levels but has
 done so at the cost of productivity the
 latest research shows.                 
                                        
 Nine out of 12 UK regions are listed in
 the top half of EU tables produced by  
 analysts Business Strategies with the  
 South East ranked fifth for employment.
                                        
 But the biggest contrast with the UK   
 was found in Belgium, where employment 
 is low but productivity is high.
