Now, she's tackling it on a much bigger scale for Streets Ahead. Rows of houses are being transformed in a show aiming to get neUghbours working together. Often, they've never spoken to each other before so getting them to give up their weekends is a big task. We spoke to Sarah about the ambitious project. ——————————————————————————————————1/7—— Coming soon is now on 407 NEW CARS REVIEWED p703 Clean TV today 4Services TV Guide

"It was very exciting," she says. "It's an opportunity for the community to get to know each other when so often people have no idea who their neighbours are. "Not only does everyone benefit because it looks nicer, it also adds value to homes. But even if you are not selling, you get to live in a nicer street." ——————————————————————————————————2/7—— Coming soon is now on 407 NEW CARS REVIEWED p703 Clean TV today 4Services TV Guide

They can up that budget if theyWre able to beg, steal or borrow from their suppliers. But it's up to them to give up their time to work on the project. What they get for free is Sarah Beeny's expertise. "I try to help as much as I can," she says. "I provide some designs - which they can choose to use or noe." ——————————————————————————————————3/7—— Coming soon is now on 407 NEW CARS REVIEWED p703 Clean TV today 4Services TV Guide

Inevitably, there are many arguments along the way. "It was difficult because it required them all to co- operate with each other," she says. "There are some lively antics as they fall out, make up and then fall out all over again. It was a bit like trying to organise a bunch of children." ——————————————————————————————————5/7—— Coming soon is now on 407 NEW CARS REVIEWED p703 Clean TV today 4Services TV Guide

"It looked like a supermarket car park," host Sarah Beeny says. "So we put car ports up at every house which, over the years, they can grow greenery over to break up the effect." Nothing was too big or small, with other projects involving new windows, paintwork, pergolas and flower beds. ——————————————————————————————————6/7—— Coming soon is now on 407 NEW CARS REVIEWED p703 Clean TV today 4Services TV Guide
