Living together in Lou Amgeles, they receive professional help from casting directors, stylists and producers. Among those trying to fast-track their way to success is Ewen MacIntosh, who played Keith in The Office. "If you're in this industry, then it is definitely one of the steps you want to take at some point," Ewen says. Despite appearing in The Office he knows it's easier said than done to make it in La La Land. "Any head start you can get is a help," says Ewen. "Anything that can get your foot in the door is a plus." Ewen MacIntosh, who was Keith in The Office, was left underwhelmed by his methods. "He was a nightmare - we didn't see eye-to-eye at all," he says. "It reminded me of why I didn't go to drama school in the first place. Presenter Giles Vickers was more than happy to be groomed for success. "He took the pressure off me," Ewen says of his pal. "Giles got all the fake tan, hair dye and had his teeth whitened. "We went down completely different routes. "I met a manager out there who has advised me to go back in August to meet agents and casting people," he says. Does he feel ready for the cut-throat US acting game? "You have to be, that's the way it is," he says. "Maybe I'll beat him in the end - success is the best revenge after all."
