 GROWING CLIENT BASE LIFTS IG PROFIT    
                                        
 Spread betting firm IG Group, which    
 floated on London Stock Exchange in    
 May, saw the number of clients placing 
 bets rise by 23% in the year to May 31.
                                        
 Pre-tax profit came in at £14m on      
 £62.3m turnover, from £3.7m on revenues
 of £39m turnover last year.            
                                        
 A lack of volatility in global stock   
 markets has seen the spread betting    
 focus move away from stock indices     
 towards markets such as crude oil.
