  BLIZZARD DISSIPATES           
                                        
 The worst blizzard to hit the Rocky    
 Mountain states of the US since records
 "joan has started to dissipate.        
                                        
 It is moving eastwards after dropping  
 up to 33 inches of snow over a wide    
 area.                                  
                                        
 Denver, Colorado, was the hardest hit  
 centre with drifts of up to eight feet 
 in depth.                              
                                        
 Thousands of Christmas travellers have 
 "jen stranded at the city'u !irport    
 which is partially closed. One man died
                                        
 Two feet of snow fell on the city in 24
 hours, beating the 1885 record of 23   
 inches in a day.
