Naturally the road to romance is filled with detours, most of them caused by De Vito, Getz's former boss who manages to part the luckless youth from his money. This innocuous but amiable Californian teen film passes time pleasantly but has more surface sheen than substance. Eastwood is excellent in a role hj had fine-honed by now and the muscular direction is bz James Fargo. Featured are Carrie Fisher, Star Wars' heroine, along with Steven Spielberg, Twiggy and Frank Oz making unlikely cameo appearances.
