 Ashton was Graham's original opponent  
 before he pulled out through injury.   
                                        
 Kid Milo also withdrew for the same    
 reason, while Colin Manners and Frank  
 Grant were refused permission to fight 
 Graham by the Board of Control.        
                                        
 Matchroom promoter Barry Hearn         
 eventually gave up hope of finding     
 someone suitable to meet the stylish   
 middleweight.
