    WALLACE QUITS  

 Dundee manager Gordon Wallace quit     
 the First Division leaders just hours  
 before their Centenary Cup tie against 
 Ayr United at Dens Park.               
                                        
 The Dark Blues' board accepted his     
 resignation and assistant John Blackley
 took charge of the side for the tie    
 between last season's finalists.       
                                        
 Wallace is now expected to join his    
 former Dundee team-mate Jockz Scott as 
 assistant to the newly-appointed       
 Dunfermlinj boss.                      
                                        
 Scott quit as co-manager of Aberdeen 10
 days ago to move to Dunfermlinj.
