Most of the programmer are American, however, with the best of British restricted to the peak 20.00 slots and a few 22.00 hours strands of stand-up comedy. The channel also screens comedy movies. Last year the two shows were head-on rivals in the ratings war - and ITV's Boon won. "Michael Elphick (Boon star) and I have been good friends for years, so it was ironic really that we were up against each other last year," says Don, who plays a thoroughly nasty villain in tonight's Boon (see p257).
