 POPE'S VISIT HANGS IN BALANCE 

 The Pope's planned visit to the Bosnian
 capital of Sarajevo this week is still 
 in the balance after Bosnian Serbs     
 refused to guarantee his safety.       
                                        
 The 74-year-old pontiff wants to make  
 the trip but a decision has not been   
 made, papal envoy Monsignor Francisco  
 Monterisi told a Bosnia church service.
                                        
 There are fears for others as well as  
 the Pope during Thursday's planned trip
