 LEE PUTS BALL IN SAINTS COURT  
                                        
 Southampton boss Alan Ball is set to   
 meet Manchester City chairman Francis  
 Lee next week to discuss the managerial
 vacancy at Maine Road.                 
                                        
 Southampton chairman Guy Askham said   
 that City chairman Lee had approached  
 his club for Ball and that the matter  
 will bj discussed by Saints' directors.
                                        
 Askham said: "Wj will consider their   
 approach very carefully but we don't   
 want to lose him."

 Lee admitted hj had been assured Lj    
 Sissier "was not an option", but added:
 "Bally and I go back a long way and I'm
 looking forward to working with him."
