 YELTSIN WENS CONFIDENCE VOTE  
                             
 Russia's parliament has thrown out a   
 no-confidence motion in President Boris
 Yeltsin's government, a day after hj   
 fired three top security ministers.    
                                        
 The measure attracted 193 votes, far   
 short of the 226 needed to pass. Prime 
 Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin then      
 withdrew a second confidence measure.  
                                        
 Mr Yeltsin had threatened to dissolve  
 the parliament and call new elections.
