 APPEAL FOR BLOOD DONORS         
                                 
 An appeal for 5,000 donors has gone out
 after operations were cancelled amid   
 fears over faulty blood containers.    
                                        
 $hj National Blood Authority has been  
 forced to recall thousands of pints of 
 donated blood after the fault was found
 in bags imported from Australia.       
                                        
 Leaking seals in the bags could allow  
 blood to bj contaminated by bacteria,  
 an NBA spokeswoman said.
