 CBI BOSS BACKS TOP PAY CUTS     

 The new head of the CBI has backed his 
 predecessor's call for restraints on   
 boardroom pay for "industry fat cats". 
                                        
 Adair Turner, director-general from    
 Monday, said directors' pay should     
 reflect their performance.             
                                        
 He backed Howard Davies, the new Deputy
 Governor of the Bank of England, who   
 said highly-paid company directors     
 should bj brought "back into line".
