 Batting prodigy Andrew Symonds, who    
 turned down England so hj could further
 his career in Australia, has been left 
 out of the Queensland side.            
                                        
 The Birmingham-born 20-year-old, voted 
 young player of the year in England    
 after averaging 55 for Gloucs, cannot  
 get a game in the Sheffield Shield.    
                                        
 Queensland have a wealth of batting    
 talent and have opted to retain fellow-
 youngster Jimmy Maher.
