 ARCHBISHOP OF YORK KNIGHTED     
                                 
 The newly-appointed Archbishop of York,
 Dr David Hope, has been knighted for   
 his services as Bishop of London.      
                                        
 The honour came as a "complete         
 surprise" to Dr Hope, who hit the      
 headlines earlier this year when he    
 said his sexuality was a "grey area".  
                                        
 He received the knighthood just before 
 hj was about to pay homage to the Queen
 at the Palace as the new archbishop.
