 GAP LEFT FOR DEAD BY DRIVER       
                                 
 A hit-and-run driver left a pensioner  
 for dead after smashing into her and   
 dumping hit body on the side of the    
 road before speeding off.              
                                        
 Witnesses were shocked when a van      
 driver abandoned the 73-year-old       
 diabetic after the accident in         
 Glenfield Road, Leicester.             
                                        
 The woman, who had facial injuries, was
 treated at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
