 ALARM "COULD HAVE SAVED TOT"      

 The house where a toddler died in a    
 blaze was on a council waiting list for
 smoke detectors which could have saved 
 her life, community campaigners claim. 
                                        
 Experts say the £5 alarm could have    
 given Sophie Clark's family time to get
 her out of the house on the Coxmoor    
 estate in Kirby-in-Ashfield, Notts.    
                                        
 Ashfield District Council has declined 
 to comment.
